Projects - Bedroom
A bedroom overwhelmed
Not much room to manoeuvre in this space.
Before
The room had become a jumble of possessions that made everyday tasks difficult and time-consuming.
After
With the floor and surfaces cleared, the space becomes much more open and there is easy access to the drawers and the laundry hamper.
Projects - 2nd Bedroom
Wasted space
This second bedroom had become a jumble of items.
Before
Several boxes from a previous move that hadn’t been unpacked, only opened and disturbed to identify contents, were preventing this room from being of use.
After
On sorting a lot of the items were no longer of use and were recycled or re-homed. Some important mementos and paperwork were discovered and these were re-boxed and clearly labelled then stored away.

Wasted space
An unrestful space not condusive to sleep.

The bedroom had become a last resting place for a wide variety of items.
After
Now a resting place for the home owner with space to move freely.

A clear entrance with a more pleasing view when entering the bedroom.

A dining room rediscovered
This dining room had lost it’s identity.
Before
As it wasn’t in regular use and the chairs had been removed this dining room had become a dumping ground.
After
With the floor and surfaces cleared of unnecessary items the space was ready to be re-established as a useful room.

The dining room had become a dumping ground.
Before
A variety of electrical devices filled the space.
After
Items were sorted and rehomed more appropriately. Leaving only a few devices on display.
Projects - Kitchen Cupboards
Tidy kitchen, messy cupboard
This client was proud of her kitchen as long as no one opened a cupboard!
First Impression
Clean and mainly clutterfree surfaces make for an efficient workspace.
Before
A jumble of food, both sweet and savoury in tins and packets. Underutilised storage bins and baskets.
After
Separate shelves used for sweet and savoury. Baskets used for syrups and crisps to allow easy access.
Projects - Playroom
Playroom, with no room to play
This room had become too crowded for anyone to have the space to play in here.
Before
Accumulated toys and games littered every surface.
After
Surfaces were tidied leaving favourite frequently used items on show.
Projects - Workshop
Workshop Standstill
The clutter in the garage, workshop and shed had become so bad that there was no space to work.
Before
Access to the desk and the shelves was impossible due to the clutter that had built up in front of them.
After
After removing and rehoming items from in front of the desk, the top was able to be cleared as it became possible to reach items and return them to their correct positions.
Before
The space in front of the shelves had become a dumping ground for larger items from other areas making access to them impossible.
After
The space was cleared and the items put into use in other areas. The shelves and their contents could now be accessed.
About ClutterBye
My name is Jane Whitelock and I have lived and worked in the North East of England for the majority of my life.
Decluttering and organising have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and long before they became the subject of so many television life-style programmes. The processes involved in these tasks seem natural to me and I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of clutter, the routine of organising and the uplifting feeling of a space decluttered.
The decision to start ClutterBye was based on time spent helping friends and family members to declutter and organise their belongings. The want and need they showed for my skills suggested that there must be others who could benefit from my approach to keeping a clutter-free life.
